Microwave Instruments for Laboratory Use

Electromagnetic radiation at a frequency of 2450 MHz is generated in microwave instruments. Molecular movement within the sample heats it up. The radiation penetrates glass, ceramics and plastic materials, but this wavelength is reflected by metals.

The use of microwave instruments in the laboratory:
  • In medicine: warming contrast media blood plasma.
  • In biology: enzymological studies, tissue fixation, sample preparation, gently heating agar in bottles, drying etc.
  • In chemistry: food analysis, synthesis, sample preparation, heating, concentrating and evaporating solutions, drying substances.

Microwave 1:
  • Mechanical operation.
  • 60 min. timer.
  • 5 power steps, intermediate steps can be set.
  • Inner height approx. 190 mm.
  • Illuminated interior.
  • Housing: white.

Microwave 2 and 3:
  • Digital operation.
  • 60 min. timer.
  • 5 power steps, intermediate steps can be set.
  • Inner height approx. 210 mm.
  • Illuminated interior.
  • Housing: white.

Microwave 4:
  • 5 power steps, 18 programmes.
  • Combined model with hot air and grill.
  • Automatic thawing and temperature holding.
  • Digital display.
  • Housing: white.
  • St. steel interior, 375 x 272 x 395 mm (W x H x D).
